Hardly anyone talks about this, but here’s the deal – most of the popular goal systems are broken.
Whether it’s OKRs, EOS Rocks, SMART Goals or something else… they all have issues to be aware of, and avoid.
This week I’m focusing on OKRs, but the lessons below are relevant to all of the popular goals systems.
We ran my company, Classy, on the OKRs for years, but eventually came to the conclusion they were holding us back.
So we started fixing the flaws – one by one – to make the system actually work as we attempted to scale to $100M & beyond (without an excessive amount of brain damage).
In this week’s article, I outline the 7 major issues with the OKRs, and how we fixed each one.
